Home owners’ delight as they move into new Brierley property

When Kirsty Hope and Eric Knights decided they needed to move house to accommodate their growing family they didn’t need to look far to find their ideal new home.

Thanks to Brierley Homes, the couple were able to find exactly what they needed not far from where they lived in Harrogate.

They have recently moved into a new four-bed home on our Woodfield Square development in the sought after Spa town.

With a growing family, Kirsty and Eric said the Birch style property ticked all of their boxes.

“We were looking for a four-bed home with more space. We came from a two-bed home with a small yard. Two teenage boys and a dog meant we had outgrown it,” said Eric.

“We wanted somewhere close to where we were living and this one came up in our search. The new-build aspect was very attractive as neither of us had bought a brand new home before.

“We were open to all options but soon got hooked on having everything shiny and new!”

Eric said that when they discovered the development was being built by Brierley Homes, the house-building arm of North Yorkshire County Council, it gave them peace of mind in what can be a rather fraught time.

“To be honest, we weren’t sure who the developer was when we booked to look at the show home,” Eric said.

“Once we knew the house was being built by Brierley, we felt we could trust them.”

Centrally located, but in a tranquil setting, Woodfield Square offers something for everyone.

“It’s walking distance for town, Kirsty’s job, school and pubs!” said Eric.

All of the homes feature high-quality specifications, with quality finishes throughout.

“I love the kitchen. We spend all our time in there,” said Kirsty. “It is such a lovely big airy living space. And the bifold doors will be wonderful in the summer.”

Eric, meanwhile, was drawn to the outdoors and to the home’s energy saving properties.

“It’s the garden for me,” he said. “And it’s warm. We haven’t needed the heating yet since the temperatures dropped.”

The couple also said, when compared to other housing schemes, Woodfield Square stood out.

“The colour of the houses is lovely, very different to other new developments,” said Kirsty. “Dark red brick complemented by the grey slate. They look similar but have slightly different features and frontages.

“We also love the fact the cul-de-sac is not a thoroughfare – it’s so quiet.”

Brierley Homes was established in 2017 by North Yorkshire County Council and the value it generates is used to support front-line council services across North Yorkshire.
