Great Ouseburn is a small village in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire. The village is set in typically undulating countryside and is mainly residential consisting of cottages and farmhouses. There are a number of historic buildings, including St Mary’s Church, which is prominent at the crest of the gentle hill on which the village is situated.

Historically a farming community, the farmhouses, outbuildings, access routes and traditional field patterns contribute to the unique character of the village. The strong link with the farming economy is maintained visually within the village. The village also hosts a public house, post office and community primary school.
