Brierley Homes have completed the sale of Phase 2 Broomfields Farm in Whitby

Completing the sale with Keyland, the site was the former Yorkshire Water site, part of a wider 24-acre Broomfields Farm located on Stainsacre Lane, which connects Whitby and Scarborough.

Planning permission was granted by North Yorkshire Council for up to 290 homes and Phase 1 is currently being developed by Barratt David Wilson Homes who purchased the site from Keyland in 2021.

Brierley Homes have now secured detailed planning permission for Phase 2 which includes 49 affordable homes.

Keyland secured £2.6 million Government Towns funding through the Whitby Town Deal Board in 2022 for the second phase, which requires the development to be 100% affordable and low carbon including sustainable features such as PV panels and air source heat pumps.

Tony Dodds, Managing Director said: “Sustainability is at the core of Brierley Homes’ approach to construction. We are committed to creating futureproofed homes that are designed for modern living, balancing high-quality design with long-term efficiency. We have welcomed the opportunity to work alongside Keyland on this exciting project and look forward to seeing the vision brought to life.”

We’re thrilled to see this project progress and are looking forward to delivering new homes to this beautiful part of North Yorkshire alongside Broadacres Housing Association.
