Plans submitted for development at Swainby

We’ve just submitted plans for nine high-quality homes in the village of Swainby in the beautiful North York Moors National Park.

The Whorlton Meadows development, earmarked for the site of the former Swainby and Potto Primary School, includes a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes.  The scheme will breathe new life into the site, which has stood empty since the school closed at the end of 2017.

All of the properties will come with garages and generously sized gardens and will be built in natural stone with pantile roofs.

Because we want to ensure our schemes are right for the people who live there we’re committed to community engagement on all our developments.  More than 100 people took part in an initial consultation for this scheme and this was followed by further discussions with residents about the scheme’s design. As a result, the plans were amended to reflect their views.

Our scheme also includes plans for a small community car park which will make an important contribution to the local community.

If planning permission is granted, construction should begin in the Spring of 2021.  More information will be available on the website in early 2021.

Brierley Homes was set up in 2017 by North Yorkshire County Council and all profits are used to support essential front-line services across the county.
